SUTURES, WOUND AND BURN CARE

Our medical professionals are at your service to treat and heal your injuries.

Small cuts are fairly common, and determining whether or not sutures are required can be challenging. That is why our healthcare team is ready to treat your wounds if and when needed. Our wound care is performed to help manage pain, heal, maintain function and prevent infection for your wound. 

 

We provide non-emergency wound and burn treatment 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

What kind of wounds need suture (stitches)?

You may need stitches or other urgent care services if your wound:

 

  • Is on your face, hand or finger

  • Is over a joint and its edges separate when moving

  • Is deeper than a quarter inch, gaping open or deep enough that fat, muscle or bone is visible

  • Was made by a rusty metal object (like nails or needles)

  • Continues to bleed after 15 minutes of direct pressure

What kind of burns need urgent aid?

Burns may require immediate evaluation and treatment at Urgent Care facility if:

  • It Involves children or the elderly. 

  • It is in the eyes. 

  • It was caused by electricity or chemicals. 

  • It is located in most of the hands, feet, the face, groin, buttocks, or a major joint.

What types of wounds can we treat?

We provide care for chronic, non-healing wounds that have not shown improvement in four weeks or have failed to heal within eight weeks. These include:

  • Different kinds of ulcers: Diabetic ulcers, venous stasis leg ulcers, ulcers on ischemic limbs (poor circulation).

  • Pressure ulcers due to immobility.
